Peace Sells est le premier single de l’album "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?" paru en 1986, qui fait suite a "kKlling Is My Business… And Business Is Good!", le premier album de Megadeth paru un an auparavant. C'est aussi le premier morceau a avoir eu l'honneur d'avoir son propre clip dans l'histoire de Megadeth.
Ce morceau est le premier a avoir fait prendre conscience au grand public (surtout les parents) que le Rock en général et le metal en particulier peut être une musique engagé qui véhicule derrière elle un message adulte et responsable ; pas seulement sexe, drugs and rock & roll.
